'We Learnt A Lot': Priyanka Chopra On Cultural Differences With Nick Jonas

In a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra opened up about her marriage with Nick Jonas, explaining how their cultural differences influence their interactions. Priyanka and Nick tied the knot in December 2018 in Jaipur and have a daughter, Malti Marie.

Priyanka Chopra opens up about cultural differences with Nick Jonas

In an episode of the 'Read the Room' podcast, Priyanka reflected on how marrying Nick Jonas, who comes from an entirely different ethnic background, has influenced her. "He loved everything (about) India. I grew up in the States. So we embraced each other's cultures in a big way."

Both of them were raised in big families but had huge cultural differences among them. Priyanka reflected on how she and her family have the habit of completing sentences for others. Sometimes she would find herself in a conversation with someone and adding to their sentences. It was only after she married Nick that she realised that not everyone might understand this. She recalled how Nick would point out when did happened so she would remember not to. "I had to learn how to wait. How to let someone finish their sentence." But all of these changes only made their years of marriage stronger.

Nick and Priyanka got married in 2018 after only a few months of dating. They were in touch through social media since 2016, but when they finally met in 2017, at the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty, Nick Jonas got down on one knee and exclaimed, "Where have you been all my life?"

They were friends for a few months before it was confirmed by a source that they were dating. Nick invited Priyanka over for his cousin's wedding, sparking speculations that their relationship was strong. Soon in July, Nick proposed to Priyanka and their marriage was a grand event with both Hindu and Christian ceremonies in the Umaid Bhavan Palace. Since then, Nick Jonas has visited India several times, most notably to celebrate Holi with Priyanka's family with her.
