Priyanka Chopra Discloses Daughter Malti’s Pre-Mature Birth Complications

After almost a year, Priyanka Chopra has finally shared intimate details of her daughter Malti Marie’s birth. Chopra recently did her first-ever photo shoot with her daughter for a fashion magazine. The mother-daughter duo were twinning in red. Chopra chose to hide her daughter’s face from the camera. Posting this adorable photo on her Instagram handle, she captioned it, "Another one of our many firsts together, February 2023"

Priyanka Chopra On Surrogacy

Priyanka Chopra revealed in an interview with the magazine that Malti was a premature baby who was born an entire trimester early. "I was in the OR when she came out. She was so small, smaller than my hand," said Chopra. "I saw what the intensive-care nurses do. They do God’s work. Nick and I were both standing there as they intubated her. I don’t know how they even found what they needed to intubate her. I didn’t know if she would make it or not," she added.

The actor posted the photo on Thursday evening, and it quickly went viral on the internet. Fans and her friends from the film industry, including Rhea Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Anusha Dandekar, Patralekha, Parineeti Chopra, Urvashi Rautela, and many others, reacted to her post by pouring love through likes and comments.

Chopra married American singer-actor Nick Jonas in December 2018. The couple got married in both traditional Hindu and Christian ceremonies. The couple's age difference, with Chopra being 10 years older than Jonas, drew a lot of criticism from the public. However, the couple has been setting relationship goals since their marriage.

In January 2022, the couple welcomed their first child, a girl, through surrogacy. They named her Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. This again brought controversy and criticism to Chopra’s doorstep. She was unfairly judged and shamed for choosing to have a baby through surrogacy. The baby’s name was also trolled by many social media users. However, Priyanka Chopra remained undeterred through all of it and is one of the sassiest new moms ever.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Chopra will be next in Love Again, which is based on the 2016 German film SMS fur Dich by Karoline Herfurth. She also has Citadel, a science fiction drama created by the Russo brothers, in the pipleline. In Bollywood, Priyanka will feature in Farhan Akhtar's directorial comeback project, Jee Le Zaraa. The film will also star Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in lead roles.
