Priyanka Chopra (PC) is one of the biggest names in Bollywood, who successfully made her way into Hollywood, during a recent chat the actor spoke about why she decided to join Hollywood while she had a successful acting career in Bollywood.
PC made her Hollywood debut with 2015 American television series Quantico, but way before that Chopra showcased her singing talent and tried being an international music artist with her songs like, Exotic and In My City, later she eventually focused more on her acting career, and flourished well in the field in the west.

While speaking with Dax Shepherd during his podcast Armchair Expert, Bollywood's 'Desi Girl' revealed that she was subjected to politics in Bollywood. She was cornered by some people in Bollywood. She faced some opposition as people from the movie industry were not casting her, and she also had some beef with people from Bollywood. At that very time, Anjula Acharia her manager came to her rescue and asked if she is comfortable building a career in the music industry in the US.
Priyanka Chopra shared that she took no time to accept the opportunity, especially because she was really looking for ways to move away from the Indian movie industry. She claimed that she was being pushed to the corner by the Bollywood industry, people were not ready to cast her, and she had beef with some people. She also said that she was not good at playing such games as well as was kind of tired of the politics going on in the industry and needed a break from it.

Further, added, that the music thing allowed her to explore the other part of the world, and also helped to maintain distance from movies she didn't want to do, but she would need to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. That it would require her to grovel and as she did work quite long enough in the industry, she didn't feel like doing it at all.
The Citadel actor revealed earlier in an interview that, there was a time when people from Bollywood tried their level best to spoil her career and not let her work. She pointed out that people wanted to jeopardise her career and strip her of opportunities to work citing her progress. She shared this while making an appearance at The Ranveer Show.
Priyanka Chopra is all set for the release of the Russo Brothers' upcoming and most awaited series Citadel, where Chopra will be spotted playing the role of a spy alongside Richard Madden. The series will stream on the OTT giant Amazon Prime from April 28. Priyanka Chopra is also expected to make a return to Bollywood alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt with the Farhan Akhtar directorial Jee Lee Zara.
