Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced the nominees for this year's Academy Awards. However, an Australian journalist questioned Priyanka and Jonas's qualification to do so.
Ford wrote in his Twitter bio "No disrespect to these two but I’m not sure their contribution to movies qualifies them to be announcing Oscar nominees". Ford describes himself as "the best & most widely heard entertainment reporter in Australia & NZ. Allegedly”.
Priyanka responded to this through a tweet in which she sarcastically calls out to Ford asks what according to him qualifies someone. Priyanka tweeted “Would love your thoughts on what qualifies someone. Here are my 60+ film credentials for your adept consideration” and scrolled the list of her 60+ films on her phone.
Priyanka's fans have applauded her reaction and loved the way she handled the troll. They also encouraged her to face such trolls with strength and not to pay attention to such negativity.
"I am just like everyone else. In the morning when I’m driving to work or I’m having my coffee, I’m flipping through Twitter, Instagram, the news, and when my name pops up, I’m like, ‘Alright, what are people saying? How are we feeling?’ I just don’t react to it or let it affect my mental well-being," Priyanka earlier said to a magazine when asked how she handles trolls.
Such cool mindedness of Priyanka when it comes to dealing with trolls made fans call her the "Queen of comebacks". Fans are really happy to see Priyanka's subtle and sarcastic way of replying to Ford instead of bashing out at him.
A user says that she loved the way Priyanka responded but condemns the behaviour of other fans who are continuously bashing at Ford for disagreement of opinions, which is quite agreeable, given the power to AgreeToDisagree. However, it is important to stand up for yourself in a respectful and dignified manner, just like our "Comebacks Queen".
