In a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey on her show Super Soul, actor Priyanka Chopra opened up about coping with her father's death. Priyanka Chopra was asked by Oprah if she had a "spiritual foundation" as a child.
To this, the actress said that it's difficult not to in India. With the plethora of religions that exist in the country, she attended a convent school as a child. As a result, s was familiar with Christianity. Chopra says that her father used to perform and sing in a mosque. Islam was something the actress was aware of too. She was raised in a Hindu household. So, Chopra was sure of the Hindu religion as well. The actress added, India's spirituality is so widespread that it's difficult to ignore. The actor-producer Chopra quoted,
“In India, it’s hard not to, you’re right. With the swirling number of religions that live in the country… I grew up in a convent school. So I was aware of Christianity. My dad used to sing in a mosque. I was aware of Islam. I grew up in a Hindu family. I was aware of that. Spirituality is such a large part of India that you can’t ignore it.”
The actor was later asked that when her faith had been questioned the most. The Quantico actor replied, “I think around the death of my dad. I was very angry. I was very angry." She said her relationship with God changed a little bit after that but at the same time, she said that she found salvation and came out of it too. "But at that time, it was tested.”
