In a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra's cousin actor Meera Chopra said that she never got any work because of her sister, adding it however did have one advantage.
In an exclusive interview with Zoom TV, she said that being related to The White Tiger actor "hasn't helped" her in her acting career. Meera revealed that she "never got any work because of Priyanka Chopra" and that the "only privilege she got" for "coming from a family who knew cinema" was that people took her seriously. Meera's other cousin sisters, Parineeti and Mannara Chopra, are also actresses. Parineeti has mostly worked in Bollywood movies and Mannara has starred in South Indian movies.
"Honestly I have not faced many comparisons," said Meera, who made her acting debut with the Tamil film Anbe Aaruyire in 2005. She got into Bollywood with Satish Kaushik's comedy-drama Gang Of Ghosts in 2014. Talking more about the Priyanka, Meera reflected, "If I needed a producer, they have not cast me as I am her sister"
She added, "I had to struggle. Honestly, with my work like every time my movie used to leave, fortunately, I have not been compared to both of them."
On the work front, Meera has worked with Pawan Kalyan and acted in Hindi movies with Vikram Bhatt's 1920: London. Apart from these, she has worked in Tamil and Telugu movies like Bangaram, Jambhavan, Marudhamalai, Kaalai, Vaana, Jaganmohini and Killadi.
In Bollywood, Meera was last seen in the film Section 375, co-starring Akshaye Khanna, Richa Chadha and Rahul Bhatt. She has already signed her next project Nastik, directed by Shailesh Varma. It stars Arjun Rampal, Meera Chopra and Harshaali Malhotra as the leads. Meera also has a Telugu movie titled Mogali Puvvu lined up.
