Prakash Padukone, an ace badminton player who won made the country proud is going to be honoured with a biopic on his life. His daughter and Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone has confirmed that she is working on the film.
Deepika Padukone had earlier produced and starred in 83, a film on India's victory against West Indies in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Actor Ranveer Singh played the role of Kapil Dev in the film and Deepika Padukone played the role of Dev's wife.
Prakash Padukone Biopic:
As per reports, Deepika Padukone is adapting her father Prakash Padukone's story into a film. The actor was speaking to Cyrus Broacha on his show where she said she is currently working on the film. Deepika Padukone also talked about the struggles faced by her father in his sports career and how he put Indian sports on the global map.
Talking about her father's career, Deepika Padukone said, "Actually, even before 83 happened, he was one of the first Indian athletes to put India on the global map as far as Indian sport is concerned. He won the World Championship in 1981, which was obviously before 1983."

The actor also talked about her father trained with a few resources and the best out of it. Padukone said, "He trained in a marriage hall, that was his badminton court. He used things like the beams that go across to make his shot more precise. He actually used his disadvantages to his advantage. If he had the facilities that athletes in India have today, then he’d be far more superior."
Deepika Padukone was recently seen playing the main lead in Shakun Batra directional Gehraiyaan. The actor gained much praise for her acting in the film. Padukone has Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathan and Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter in the pipeline. She has also been starred in the Indian adaptation of American film titled The Intern. The Indian version will have Amitabh Bachchan along with Padukone. Besides these, Deepika will feature in Nag Ashwin’s Project K with Big B and Prabhas.
