Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar is no longer with us. The director died at the age of 68. On March 24, 2023, at around three in the morning, he was taken to the hospital. According to reports, Sarkar was receiving dialysis, and this caused a sharp decline in potassium levels. At about 3:30 am, he departed for his heavenly abode. The industry was heartbroken to hear of his unfortunate passing.
Pradeep Sarkar's first Bollywood film to serve as a director is Parineeta. With a talented ensemble star cast that featured Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan, Sanjay Dutt, Dia Mirza, Raima Sen, and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, he directed the film. Balan had already been turned down for several roles before to this, which was her debut film endeavour. However, in a prior interview with Simi Garewal, the actor stated that Sarkar, whom she calls Dada, was convinced that she was Lolita. On Friday morning, during "antim darshan," Balan arrived at Pradeep Sarkar's home.
Pradeep Sarkar Dies At 67
After his 2005 movie was a hit, the director made Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. The movie, which starred Jaya Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, and others, opened in theatres on October 12, 2007. The director's passing this morning came as a shock to Rani Mukerji, who worked with him on Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and Mardaani. Mukerji expressed her regret for not having the opportunity to meet the director before his passing. She added that Pradeep Sarkar's passing caused both his family and the movie industry significant loss.

In 2010, he collaborated with Deepika Padukone and Neil Nitin Mukesh on the film Lafangey Parindey. The film he next directed, Mardaani, starred Rani Mukerji. It was among the year's most outstanding movies. The director finally produced Helicopter Eela, starring Kajol, four years later. The director worked on his debut web series, Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala, which was released in 2019, after directing a number of films. He later directed Forbidden Love and Arranged Marriage. His most recent web series project, Duranga, featured him directing the first two episodes.
