Pracheen Chauhan Arrested: Television actor Pracheen Chauhan was arrested on Saturday by Kurar Police on molestation charges. The case against Chauhan was registered based on a complaint of a 22-year-old woman.
"The woman approached us and alleged that Pracheen Chauhan touched her inappropriately in an inebriated state," said Prakash Vele, Kurar Police station seniour inspector, according to Mid-day.
He further revealed that an FIR has been registered against Pracheen Chauhan under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code, following which he was arrested from his home.
A television actor known for his work in daily soaps, Pracheen Chauhan has worked in serials like Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat, Ssshhhh... Koi Hai, Sindoor Tere Naam Ka, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Laal Ishq and Kyun Hota Hai Pyarr.
Pracheen Chauhan's arrest comes just weeks after the arrest of another popular television actor, Pearl V Puri, based on an alleged rape complaint filed under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Puri was arrested on June 5 alongside five others in connection with the case, and later remanded to a 14-day judicial custody.
