On Tuesday, June 1, actor Samir Soni uploaded a video of an interview with Pooja Bedi on his Instagram handle. It goes by the title, "Simply Chat...with Samir Soni Pooja Bedi Unfiltered". He asked her questions regarding her family, childhood and a lot more. When asked how it was like growing up with her parents, both of whom are big personalities, she said that others would consider her to be a 'bad influence'.

"If you grow up in something, you consider that normal, right? So to me, what was normal was very 'not normal' for a lot of other families that surrounded us. But for me, growing up with celebrity parents, being written about, being open, wearing bikinis on beaches was very normal," she said. "I was Pooja Bedi who was not just doing those things but talking about those things. So I was a 'bad influence'," she added.

Bedi further said that her friends' parents would encourage them to play with other girls who were 'better' or more conservative. They feared that Bedi would 'corrupt' their children and they would start wearing short clothes. She continued saying that in reality, 'the girls would wear short skirts below their long skirts which they would remove on stepping out'. "But the mothers were convinced that the daughters were doing things the right way," she said.

Pooja Bedi, a rebel child

"So basically, at the end of the day, I was this rebel child whose "influence" the parents didn't want to come on to their kids. It's so strange because so many years later, having lived the life I have had, been the person I am, accomplished whatever I did, I now have so many women over the past many many years coming to me and saying, 'We want our daughter to be just like you'," said the Comedy Couple actor.

"Today, I look back at that and say, 'Wow, times have changed'. How people view women today has changed so much. Women want their daughters to be empowered, bold, earning and successful," she added.

Pooja Bedi interview controversy

When Samir Soni shared the interview on his Instagram handle, Bedi pointed out that it was edited. To this, Soni replied that he was yet to upload the second part. "When you say unfiltered, you mean no camera filters because the interview definitely has edited content filtered out. However, I know I can be a bit much to digest...so its understandable".

Soni captioned the video footage as, "In conversation with the incredibly affable Pooja Bedi". Responding to this, in another comment, Bedi said that she needed better adjectives than 'incredible'. She added that it was a happy chat. "Stay wonderful and happy and healthy," the actor expressed.

Pooja Bedi refrained from posting any comments on the second part of the video.
