Plabita Borthakur Bombay Begums: Actor Plabita Borthakur will soon feature in the much-anticipated Netflix series, Bombay Begums.
The show will present the story of five women, who belong from different socio-economic backgrounds, but what connects them is surviving Bombay. Plabita Borthakur will be playing Ayesha, a woman working at Rani’s office trying to make her way up the corporate ladder through any means necessary.
It marks the comeback of actor Pooja Bhatt. Also in the series are Shahana Goswami, Amruta Subhash, Aadhya Anand, Rahul Bose, Danish Husain, Vivek Gomber, and Manish Chaudhari.
The 28-year-old actor, who hails from Assam, made her debut in Bollywood with a blink-and-miss role in PK. She got recognition after the release of Lipstick Under My Burkha, in which she played one of the main protagonists.

The dark-comedy starring an ensemble cast including Ratna Pathak, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur in pivotal roles, was a fresh take on women and their sexual desires. Initially, the women-centric film was banned because of the bold female characters that expressed their right to freedom.
Fuh Se Fantasy
The 2019 web-series featured Plabita as the lead character Jyotsna. The show that streamed on the platform named Voot, showcased the delight in modern relationships. The lead pair delved into their deepest desires.
Parchhayee
Another web series that streamed on ZEE5, is a 12 episode horror-thriller. The show brought the bone-chilling horror stories penned by the celebrated author Ruskin Bond.
Waah Zindagi
Plabita has bagged a role in the upcoming comedy film, Waah Zindagi, alongside well-liked actors Vijay Raaz and Sanjay Mishra. The film is based on the concept of 'Make in India'. The storyline narrates an unconventional love story, of a destitute farmer's son who aspires to be an entrepreneur.
Doosra
Another project in the pipeline is the upcoming film Doosra helmed by Abhinay Deo. The film weaves together two stories- One, which features a maverick captain, Sourav Ganguly, and another, of a challenging young girl, Tara, who takes on social prejudices. The actor will be seen playing the protagonist of the latter story.
