Morgan accused Harry and Meghan of trashing the queen and claiming that “everybody in the royal family is a white supremacist.”

Tense exchange between Piers Morgan and Shola Mos-Shogbamimu

The TV personality called out Markle over her comments made in the interview with Oprah Winfrey and said it’s the “most incendiary charge I’ve seen in my career”.

Without losing a moment the Black activist Mos-Shagbamimu schooled the host. The author of This Is Why I Resist, also called out Queen Elizabeth for not protecting Harry’s family from racist media reports.

“Listen, you might learn something. The royal family is an institution rooted in colonialism, white supremacy and racism. The legacy is right there. So you’re now surprised that comment would have been made by several members of the royal family about how dark Archie’s skin is,” she told Morgan.

Pointing out the ironic aspect of the argument, she said, “You’re more outraged that Harry and Meghan had the audacity to speak their truth than ... at the actual outrage of racism”.

However, the talk show host didn’t back down and responded, “I think what you just said about the queen is disgusting”.

“You are disgusting!” Mos-Shagbamimu exclaimed without holding back.

Meghan Markle on racial treatment

During the much-anticipated interview, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spoke bluntly about racism and revealed that Buckingham Palace was ‘concerned’ about her then-unborn son, Archie’s skin colour.

In a tell-all interview that aired on CBS on Sunday, the Suits actor said, “In those months when I was pregnant … we have in tandem the conversation of ‘He won’t be given security. He’s not going to be given a title,’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”
