Phoebe Bridgers Faces Backlash Over Her Guitar-Smashing SNL Debut

Phoebe Bridgers SNL: Singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers performed on Saturday Night Live on February 6 where on her famous tracks from album Punisher, Kyoto and I Know The End.

The singer in a strange fashion smashed her guitar at the end of her performance. This sparked conversations on social media as the audience wondered why Phoebe Bridgers chose to do that.

The singer faced some misogynist comments as users couldn't understand a woman doing what male rockstars in musical history have often done. Bridgers appeared on the SNL episode twice to perform and decided to smash her guitar against a speakers.  

As many questioned Bridgers action, her fans came to her rescue called out the sexist backlash by the same people who have cheered on male rockstars for doing it for decades. 

Phoebe Bridgers SNL debut gave rise to a memefest 

While some decided to hate on it, many social media users were quite impressed by the Bridgers performance. Many compared it to the Sunday Super Bowl event and placed Phoebe Bridgers SNL performance above it. 

Bridgers made her SNL debut with Schitt's Creek creator Dan Levy on February 6, 2021. The show was well anticipated with the with news of these two famous celebrities announced as hosts. After the show went live, Dan Levy's mother took to Twitter and called his bullies from school and proudly announced that her son is going to live from Saturday Night Live in New York.
