Another Failed Recreation? Twitter Talks About 'Phir Dhan Te Nan' Song From 'Kuttey'

There have been a plethora of recreated songs in the past few years in Bollywood. Some of them were successful in adding up to the song while keeping the vibe of the original alive, while others failed to impress the hearts of the listeners and were accused of ruining the original track.

Bollywood is filled with abundant recreated songs from the past decades that have taken over the listeners. However, not all of them were successful hits like their originals. While some did justice to the legacy of originals, others simply ruined the vibe of it. A new addition to Bollywood's recreated song is Phir Dhan Te Nan from Aasmaan Bhardwaj's upcoming film Kuttey. The song is the first track of the movie that was released on January 5 and is the recreation of the famous Dhan Te Nan song from the 2009 film Kaminey starring Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor and Amole Gupte.

Phir Dhan Te Nan Twitter Review

The song features a show-down between Tabu and Arjun Kapoor with Radhika Madan and Konkana Sen Sharma watching the feud. The video of the song has fierce vibes with the actors in intense looks while the music plays and Madan dances in the background. As the song was released, it was up for the scrutiny of listeners who have listened to and loved the original hit Dhan Te Nan.

A Twitter user wrote, "What is the need to RECREATE every damn original bollywood song!!! Original #dhantenan was such a party vibe! #PhirDhanTeNan just spoiled it #disappointed Ofc Singer is good but definitely not enjoying the song." The recreated song is sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Vishal Dadlani who have sung the original version as well.

However, there were listeners who complimented the presence of Tabu's fierce expressions and Sukhwinder Singh's iconic vocals. A Twitter user wrote, "You can ignore Arjun Kapoor, but not Tabu and Sukhwinder Singh. Phir Dhan Te Nan song." Another one wrote, "Lovely to see tabu dancing. It is the best song of this season Phir Dhan Te Nan".

The song faced backlash from Shahid Kapoor's fans even before its release as they did not want a recreation that was ruined and did not feature Shahid Kapoor. A fan wrote on Twitter, "Sorry @arjunk26 bt you are not justified the Dhan te nan return  Shahid is Great  we can't watch the song without him...U all are made song too bad...Too Disappointed".

Kuttey will be starring Naseeruddin Shah, Konkana Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, Shardul Bharadwaj and Kumud Mishra in pivotal roles. The movie will tell the story of three gangs on a weapon and money hunt against each other. The movie releases on January 13, 2023.
