The trailer opens with Rani confessing that she and Rishu have both done wild things for love. Rishu, setting boundaries, tells her he will accept anything she says as long as there is no third person between them. However, complications arise as Sunny Kaushal's character, Abhimanyu, enters the scene. He asks Rani out on a movie date, and their relationship quickly blossoms.

As Rishu becomes aware of Rani's new affair, the plot thickens with unexpected twists, including a dramatic crocodile attack. The trailer concludes with a surprising twist: the entry of Jimmy Shergill. Introducing himself as Neel's uncle, he states that he has personal questions that need answering, adding another layer of intrigue to the story.

Announcing the release date on Instagram, Taapsee shared, "9 August ki Hasseen shaam, Dillruba ke naam" (Beautiful evening of 9 August, in the name of Dillruba). Directed by Jayprad Desai and written and co-produced by Kanika Dhillon, the film features a stellar cast including Taapsee Pannu, Massey, Sunny Kaushal, and Jimmy Shergill. It is produced by Aanand L. Rai's Colour Yellow Productions and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series Films.

The official synopsis reveals that Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba picks up where the first film left off, continuing the journey of Rani Kashyap and Rishabh Saxena. The couple tries to start anew in the lively city of Agra, but their dreams are quickly disrupted by a relentless pursuit from the authorities, leaving behind a trail of blood.

Sunny Kaushal joins the cast as Abhimanyu, adding more complexity to Rani and Rishu's quest for a fresh start. The couple faces new adversaries, including Jimmy Shergill's character, who threaten to destroy their hopes of a happy ending.

Haseen Dillruba was directed by Vinil Mathew, and the story of the film was written by Kanika Dhillon, loosely based on Roald Dahl's short story, Lamb to the Slaughter (1953). Pannu, along with the director, won several awards for the film. Pannu's acting was praised by everyone, and now in the second film, this team has high expectations to be met. The film's exploration of love, trust, and betrayal is sure to resonate with viewers, making it a must-watch when it premieres on Netflix on August 9.
