Is Amber Heard In Aquaman 2? Two Million People Sign Petition To Remove Her

Actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation suit hearings are underway and the social media users have been getting every possible update from the courtroom. The videos from the hearing have been widely shared on the internet and have become the subject of debate between fans of Johnny Depp and the ones who think of him as the guilty party.

The case was filed by Depp against Heard after she wrote an opinion article painting herself as a survivor of domestic abuse. In the hearings of the case, Depp's lawyers came up with audio recordings in which Heard seems to admit that was violent against the actor.

No matter what the verdict comes out to be in the end, social media users seems to formed an opinion on the case and are constantly seen taking sides. Recently, the sequel of Aquaman was announced by the makers and the individuals who believe Amber Heard to be abusive have come together to make sure that she is not cast in the film.

Amber Heard in Aquaman 2:

The signatures on the online petitions for the same have reportedly reached two million. The petitioners are asking the makers of Aquaman 2 to drop Heard from the cast. The petitions mentioned that Heard "has been exposed as a domestic abuser by Johnny Depp" and that her role in Aquaman 2 should be cancelled to prevent the alleged abuse from being "glamorised". Amber Heard played the role of Princess Mera in Aquaman along with Jasom Momoa in the lead role.

The petition added, "Also, Amber Heard was arrested in 2009 for abusing a former domestic partner, Tasya Van Ree, demonstrating a repeated pattern of abuse by Amber Heard." The producer of Aquaman had earlier said that Amber Heard will not be removed from Aquaman franchise.

The Defamation Suit:

In 2018, Amber Heard wrote a column in Washington Post where she described herself as the "public figure representing domestic abuse". Heard did not name Johnny Depp but Depp's lawyer's argued that it was implied that she was accusing him of the same. The case against Heard asks her to pay $50 million in damages.

Heard did not just sit back after being sued. She filed a counter and demanded $100 million instead for alleged suffering "rampant physical violence and abuse" at Johnny Depp's hand. Depp has blamed Heard for his recent career losses as he was removed from Fantastic Beasts franchise and was also not cast in Pirates as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Depp has also maintained so far that he was never physically abusive toward Amber Heard and accused her instead of being violent with him. Johnny Depp has been nominated for the Oscars three times in his acting career. He met Heard in 2019 when the duo were shooting for The Rum Diary. They got married in 2015 and filed for divorce two years later.
