Persuasion cast: Jane Austen fans have been ecstatic ever since Netflix announced the adaptation of her novel Persuasion into a movie. The excitement only seems to have doubled as the cast members were revealed in a trailer.
Persuasion is a regency drama, slated to release soon on Netflix. Persuasion is based on Jane Austen's novel of the same name. The novel was released after Jane Austen's death and is a movie following slow pining and romance in the regency period. The story follows the life of 27-year-old Anne Elliot (Dakota Johnson) and her love triangle with her ex-fiance Frederick Wentworth (Cosmo Jarvis) and cousin Walter Elliot (Henry Golding).

Society has already termed Anne as unmarriageable given her age. So she is pushed to marry Walter to be able to at least inherit her father's estate which pushes her into a dilemma, and a journey to figure out what she actually wants. The movie includes a stellar star cast and run time of 1hr 27 minutes. It is slated to release on Netflix on July 15, 2022. The star cast of the movie includes Dakota Johnson- portraying 27-year-old Anne Elliot. Dakota takes the center stage in the movie. Cosmo Jarvis plays Frederick Wentworth former fiance of Anne, who she crosses paths with later on in life, and Henry Golding of Crazy Rich Asians fame plays the rich cousin, Walter Elliot, whom Anne is later persuaded to marry.
Other cast members include Richard E. Grant as Sir Walter Elliot, Nikki Amuka-Bird as Lady Russell, and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Mary Musgrove.
