Bridgerton To Explore Penelope And Colin's Love Story In Season 3!

Fans of the show Bridgerton can hardly wait for the release of season 3. Henceforth any piece of information on the plot or the cast of the show's upcoming season 3 can act as a relief for the fans. On Sunday, an important piece of the plot was revealed by an actor, suggesting that the upcoming season might stray away from the books that the show is based on.

The upcoming season is going to be about Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan and Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton. The show is based on the books by Julia Quinn. The first season of the show focused on Daphne Bridgerton's (Phoebe Dynevor) love story with Simon (Rege-Page Jean).

While the second season focused on Anthony Bridgerton's (Jonathon Bailey) relationship with Kate Sharma, played by Simone Ashley. Going by the sequence of the book, the third season was originally going to focus on Benedict Bridgerton's (Luke Thompson) love life.

On Sunday, Coughlan revealed that season three of the show, which will stream on Netflix, will be skipping ahead and following Penelope's relationship with Colin and save Benedict's story for the future.

In the show, Penelope is a member of the Featherington family, she is best friends with Eloise Bridgerton, played by Claudia Jessie. Penelope is attracted to Eloise's elder brother Colin. She is also best friends with him. At the end of season one, it's revealed that Penelope is Lady Whistledown, who is an anonymous gossip columnist, read and feared by all.

In season 2, Eloise is on a hunt to catch Lady Whistledown, while Penelope tries to stop her friend from unknowingly revealing her identity. In the same season, parallel to all the drama, Penelope writes letters after letters to Colin, in a hope that he realises her love for him. But most of the times, she is met with disappointment.

At one instance, she overhears Colin being boastful with his friends and affirming that he will never fall for a woman like Penelope. This hurts Penelope. By the end of season two, even Eloise is successful in finding out who the real Lady Whistledown is. Season three is going to be a whirlwind considering the secrets that hangs by the thread.

There has been no confirmed date as to when can the upcoming season's release be anticipated. However, it has been reported that it is likely to release in 2023.
