Penelope And Colin Love Story In Bridgerton Season 3: Will They Be Together?

Based on American best-selling author Julia Quinn's historical romance fiction, the web show Bridgerton has amassed a great fan following. Season 3 of the web series will be focused on the romance between Penelope and Colin. The Netflix period drama Bridgerton will reportedly stray from the books' order.

Nicola Coughlan revealed on a panel that the series' third season will follow Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and her character, Penelope Feathington aka Lady Whistletown's love story. Speaking at the Bridgerton For Your Consideration panel, she said the third season will focus on their romance while Quinn's fourth instalment focuses on their romance.

The first two seasons of the show were in tandem with the first two instalments of Quinn's novels. Both seasons—one and two—focused on Daphne Bridgerton’s (Phoebe Dynevor) love story with Simon (Regé-Page Jean) and Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathon Bailey) romance with Kate (Simone Ashley).

While Quinn's third book focuses on Benedict Bridgerton's love life, the series will first focus on Penelope in the third season.

During the season 2 finale, Penelope is seen overhearing Colin saying he would never marry her which leaves her heartbroken. She was smitten by Colin and her feelings, and longing for him only intensified throughout the course of the show.

Despite their obvious progress in love, the second season of the series ended on a bitter note with Penelope overhearing a conversation in which Colin said to his friends that he would never "court her." Colin's statements have created tensions among the audience of the show as well.

Although fans are as disappointed as Penelope, they are ecstatic that the new season will focus on them. Moreover, the couple eventually comes together as Colin begins reciprocating her feelings.

Ever since the show hit the screens back in 2020, mystery surrounded who Lady Whistledown was as viewers were merely introduced to her as the anonymous writer of a social pamphlet detailing the gossip of “the ton”. While Colin is able to trust Penelope again and gets married to her in the book, fans are excited to see what the show makers will do since they have already deviated from the order.
