Pearl V Puri Arrest Case: The 31-year-old Naagin actor has been arrested by the Mumbai police for alleged rape and molestation of a minor girl.

On June 5, television actor Pearl V Puri along with five others were arrested in a case for the alleged rape of a minor girl. The 31-year-old actor is also reportedly charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

After news of the actor’s arrest surfaced online, his Naagin 3 co-star actor Anita Hassanandani came to the actor’s defence. Hassanandan posted a picture of herself with Puri and wrote, “Woke up to some nonsensical news bout @pearlvpuri I Know him! It is NOT true”.

• On June 5, Pearl V Puri along with five others were reportedly arrested by the Mumbai police on charges of rape and molestation of a minor girl.
• Puri was arrested in Vasai in connection with the case.
• Sanjay Patil, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 2, Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar, said that the alleged victim and her mother reported the incident to the police.
• DCP Patil also said that the alleged rape incident is not new but a case is now registered against the actor and the five others after the complaint.
• Puri is reportedly charged under Section 376 (Rape) of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
• DCP Patil also said that the actor is currently in police custody as he is detained by Vasai Court.
• The official refused to comment further on the case as it falls under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
• After the arrest, Puri’s co-star Anita Hassanandani took to Instagram to share her support for the actor.
• Hassanandani said that she’s sure there is more to the story. “The truth will be out soon. Love you @pearlvpuri #ISTANDWITHPEARL” she wrote in her Instagram caption.
