Patralekhaa Paul's personalised wedding veil with a Bengali verse inscribed has been the talk of the town. The verse was penned by the Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. After an 11-year-long courtship, the couple got married at a resort in Chandigarh. Amongst the few photographs shared on social media, Patralekhaa is seen carrying her traditional Bengali bridal look with aalta (red paint on hands and feet) and shakha pola (the red which is made of red corals and white which is conch-shell bangles worn by married Bengali women).
While congratulating the couple on the wedding in an Instagram post, Sabyasachi Mukherjee shares a picture of the couple and the details of their outfit. Patralekhaa wore "a red tulle embroidered buti sari paired with an embroidered veil." The verse on the veil read, "Amar poran bhora bhalobasha aami tomay shomorpon korilam (I surrender my heart filled with love to you)."
The wedding look of both Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao was designed by the Sabyasachi label. The jewellery worn by her is handcrafted Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery which is "22k gold with uncut diamonds, pearls and emeralds."
While Rajkummar Rao wore "an embroidered raw silk ivory jacket with gold plated Bengal tiger buttons paired with a Bangalore silk kurta and churidar." He too wore his jewellery from Sabyasachi, "strands of cultured Japanese pearls".
Patralekhaa also shared images of the wedding on her Instagram feed with the caption, "I got married to my everything today; my boyfriend, my partner in crime, my family, my friend, my soulmate...My best friend for the last 11 years! There is no greater feeling than to be your wife! Here's to our forever... @rajkummar_rao."

The Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee was recently in news for his Royal Bengal Mangalsutra advertisement, which even fetch him a legal notice from a Bombay High Court lawyer. The advertisement showed models wearing innerwear donning a Mangalsutra and thus was considered "obscene" and hurting the religious sentiments. Even Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra threatened the designer with legal action. Post all the outrage, the designer withdrew his advertisement for the Royal Bengal Mangalsutra.
