In an unfortunate incident, the Korean entertainment industry recently lost a young and popular talent. 29-year-old Park Soo Ryun, last seen in the top-rated series 'Snowdrop', passed away in an unforeseen accident on June 11.
Popular Korean actor Park Soo Ryun passed away after a heavy fall from the stairs on her way home. The unfortunate accident happened a day before her much-awaited performance on Jeju Island.
Park Soo Ryun Passes Away
Korean media tabloid Soompi reported that the actor was rushed to the hospital and while several attempts to were made, she was declared brain dead after a point. After consideration, her bereaved family decided to donate her organs. It was reported that her mother played a huge role in making this decision for Ryun as she believed her daughter would have wanted the same. Talking to the tabloid, Ryun's mother said, "Her brain is unconscious but her heart is beating. There is someone who needs organs and as her parents, we will be able to live and move forward knowing that Ryun's heart has helped someone and is beating somewhere."
Ryun's last rites took place on Monday. A procession to honour her life and achievements is set to take place on June 13.
Born in 1994, Ryun made her debut with the musical il Tenore in 2018. Some of her popular musicals include The Days We Loved, The Cellar, Finding Kim Jong Wook and Siddhartha among others.
Her notable role in Snowdrop, a worldwide popular historical drama, earned her massive praise. She played the role of a university student who was detained and later released by authorities. She was seen opposite Blackpink's Jisoo and Jung Hae In.
Ryun's fans globally expressed their shock at the news and shortly after, tributes started pouring in for her across multiple social media sites. Sharing favourite moments from across shows of the actor, fans honoured her short career and extended condolences to her bereaved family.
