Park Seo Joon in Captain Marvel 2: Recent reports are suggesting that the South Korean actor will be starring in The Marvels. The movie is a sequel to the Oscar-winning movie Captain Marvel starring Brie Larson.
According to the various industry representatives report, Park Seo Joon's schedule now has The Marvels in it. The reports stated that the actor will be travelling to the United States to join the rest of the cast for filming in the second half of this year.
While Park Seo Joon has worked in numerous hit films and dramas in the South Korean entertainment industry, if this is true, will be his first international project. The actor was also part of the Oscar-winning movie Parasite released in 2019.
According to the reports, the actor will be joining the cast of Marvel after he completes filming for Concrete Utopia, which is a project he is currently working on. However, his agency has not confirmed the report. Agency Awesome ENT responded, “No comment,” regarding the news.
Captain Marvel was the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) first female superhero film that was a box office hit. It grossed over 1.13 billion dollars after its release. The sequel will be directed by Nia DaCosta. Among the confirmed actors for the cast, Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani are included. Zawe Ashton has reportedly been cast as the main villain. Actor Park Seo Joon in The Marvels would ensure a more diverse cast and it will also mark his international debut in mainstream American cinema.
If Actor Park confirms, he will officially be the third South Korean actor to star in a Marvel movie following actor Claudia Kim in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ma Dong Seok in Eternals. The Marvels is scheduled to be released on November 11, 2022, in the United States.
