Saina film: Actor Parineeti Chopra shared a glimpse of herself from the sports biopic of the Badminton star Saina Nehwal as Chopra is seen playing the lead role.
Saina Nehwal who broke numerous ceilings for Indian women players in the field has many honours to her name (winning two Commonwealth Games gold medals for her country, for instance). Viewers have high expectations from the movie that'll be out soon.
The Parineeti Chopra starrer Saina is directed by Amole Gupte is set to release on the 26th of March 2021. Apart from Parineeti Chopra playing Saina and Manav Kaul as her coach, the film also features Paresh Rawal as Saina’s father Harvir Singh Nehwal. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Sujay Jairaj, and Rashesh Shah under the banner of T-Series and Front Foot Pictures.
As the film is set to release in a couple of days, Parineeti shared a glimpse of herself from the film on Instagram and tagged Nehwal in the caption. She wrote, "Tried to lunge like you @nehwalsaina (Saina Nehwal) 🏸." Check out the post below-
The film was also previously in buzz following the goof-up found by netizens in the film's poster. Netizens had heavily trolled Parineeti for a wrong indication of hand movement while serving the shuttlecock. For this Parineeti Chopra had indicated that she does accept constructive criticism with open hands but simply does not waste her time on unnecessary trolls. Chopra said, "I function very differently. If I find criticism valid, I will take it up sportingly. But if I don’t find any merit in it then I ignore it."
Further, according to sources, Parineeti Chopra had asked for tips from the global icon Priyanka Chopra. She also said that Priyanka advised her to capture the feel of the character rather than focusing on the looks. Priyanka Chopra too had played the lead role in the biopic of the Indian boxer Mary Kom.
