Pagglait cast: The upcoming comedy-drama Pagglait will be released on Netflix on March 26, 2021. The film’s teaser and release date was revealed today, on star Sanya Malhotra’s birthday.
Pagglait will be focusing on the journey of a young widow Sandhya, played by Malhotra, as she learns how to live freely and discovers her identity and purpose in life. The film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Guneet Monga and Achan Jain and was written and directed by Umesh Bist.

Sanya Malhotra
Sanya Malhotra is an actor who made her film debut as Babita Kumari in the biographical sports film Dangal. She also starred in Badhaai Ho, both of these films rank among the highest-grossing Indian films. Malhotra has received praise for her supporting roles in the biopic Shakuntala Devi and the dark comedy Ludo. She was nominated for the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for her role in the drama Photograph.
Malhotra will be playing Sandhya, a young widow struggling to mourn her recently deceased husband’s death in the film Pagglait. When speaking about the movie, Malhotra said in a statement, “So thrilled to announce this film which is very close to my heart on my special day. I essay the role of Sandhya, a character very different from what I have previously portrayed on-screen. My Pagglait journey was Pagglait indeed, and I can’t wait for the world to witness this unique story very soon.”
Shruti Sharma
Shruti Sharma is an actor who made her television debut on the reality show India’s Next Superstars. Sharma has also played the lead role in the series Gathbandhan as Dhanak Parekh and the lead role in Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka! As Shayari Ahmed. She also played a role in Namak Issk Ka as Chamcham Rani/Kahani Verma.
Sharma will be playing the role of Nazia in the film Pagglait.
Sayani Gupta
Sayani Gupta is an actor that made her feature film debut in 2012 in Second Marriage Dot Com. Since then, Gupta has appeared in supporting roles in films such as Fan, Jolly LLB 2, and Article 15. She starred opposite Kalki Koechlin in the movie Margarita with a Straw, in which she played the character of Khanum, a blind lesbian activist. Gupta has also appeared in web series like Inside Edge, Kaushiki and Four More Shots Please!
As a singer, Sayani Gupta has sung ‘Kahab To’ in Article 15 and also served background vocals on several soundtracks for Four More Shots Please!
Gupta will be playing Ananya in the film Pagglait.
Sheeba Chaddha
Sheeba Chaddha is a film, stage, and television actor who has appeared in films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Parzania, Delhi 6, Luck by Chance, Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Talaash. Her appearances in television series include Love Marriage, Kitani Mohabbat Hai, Kahani Saat Pheron Ki, Lakhon Mein Ek, and Hitler Didi.
