When Is Pataal Lok Season 2 Coming Out ?

As per the recent announcements by an OTT platform, Paatal Lok is one of the shows that are going to be renewed for the second season. The makers showed a glimpse of the new season in which the lead character takes a new pursuit like the last time and he has to go back to the dark side of the city.

The series has been created by Sudip Sharma. Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy together directed the series starring Jaideep Ahlawat. The show's first season had nine episodes, the same is expected in the second one. As per the makers, the series is based on a book written by Tarun Tejpal, The Story of My Assassins. Paatal Lok was released in 2020 had marked the digital debut of actor Anushka Sharma as a producer.

The series had been received quite well by the audience as it showed many characters who had depth. Ahlawat won praises for playing the character of a police officer who is smart enough to play the dirty game without landing himself in trouble. Since the show also had a television news anchor, many wondered if the show is based on real incidents.

Other cast members of the show were Neeraj Kabi and Gul Panag are in the lead roles. Ahlawat's character is a simple man struggling to show love to his son as he himself didn't receive any from his father. His personal life struggles are intertwined with the every day chaos he faces at his job and has no idea how to handle what. As the man gives his best shot at unravelling the mystery at hand, he finds some inexplainable dark truths and finds himself in deep trouble. He loses and then gets back up to fight for what is right.

The complexity of his character made him stand apart from all the cop-hero roles played by actors in Bollywood over the years. Ahlawat's Hathi Ram Chaudhary is a strong man who often feels weak and needs a shoulder to rest. The character's return on the screen much awaited by the audience.

The show was also criticised by a section of social media for joining the list of content which show brutal crimes against women to keep the audience hooked.

As per the recent updates, the show will return on screens sometime in 2022 but the exact date as not been revealed by the makers.
