One Mic Stand 2 celebrity list: After a much-hyped title release, the streaming platform disclosed the name of actor Sunny Leone and journalist Faye D'Souza as two of the new celebrities, who will be seen in the One Mic Stand Season 2, a show where celebrities from all walks of life try their hand at stand-up comedy.
Alongside Leone and D'Souza will be Karan Johar, Raftaar and Chetan Bhagat. The posters of these celebrities were revealed by the streaming platform via social media, creating a stir among the viewers, who are waiting for its release since the title announcement.
The actor and the owner of StarStruck Cosmetics Leone have been part of reality shows like Splitsvilla. Her social media is filled with prank videos and sarcasm. The actor has one upcoming song feature - Pardesi, sung by Asees Kaur and Arko.
It will be Indian journalist Faye D'Souza's first time at One Mic Stand too. She previously worked as the executive editor at Mirror Now and now has her own news channel on YouTube with 2.13 lakh subscribers.
The show will be aired on Amazon Prime Video. The concept of the show is simple: there are host, celebrities and mentors who will be helping the celebrities with their first time stand-up gig.
The host of this season will be Sapan Verma and the mentors are comedians Abish Mathew, Sumukhi Suresh, Atul Khatri and Neeti Palta.
In season one too the show was created and hosted by Sapan Verma and it had celebrities like Shashi Tharoor, Taapsee Pannu, Richa Chadha, Vishal Dadlani and Bhuvan Bam on board.
In an interview with the Indian Express, Sapan Verma said that the show is unscripted and the first time celebrities from the various fields will attempt stand-up comedy. The show came from the fact that comedians have worked with celebrities for award shows. During that time he realised how self-aware and funny celebrities are but they choose not to display it publicly. So, this platform was to bring them on stage and let them be themselves.
