As part of continuing austerity measures in the nation, the Bangladeshi government refused Bollywood actor-dancer Nora Fatehi permission to perform at an event in Dhaka in an effort to save dollars.
According to Bloomberg, Nora Fatehi was slated to perform a dance and present prizes during an event put on by the Women Leadership Corporation. She was all ready to perform in Dhaka soon. But the Bangladeshi authorities "disallowed" her performance. The explanation is uncommon. The cancellation of Fatehi's performance is a result of Bangladesh's recent adoption of austerity measures, which are intended to "save dollars."

According to a notice released by Bangladesh's Ministry of Cultural Affairs on Monday, Nora Fatehi, who is well-known for her work in the Indian film industry, was denied permission "in view of the global scenario and with the aim of maintaining the foreign exchange reserves."

The central bank's restrictions on dollar transfers in light of the nation's declining foreign exchange reserves were mentioned by the ministry. As of October 12, the nation's foreign exchange reserves were down to $36.33 billion from $46.13 billion a year earlier. According to reports, the present stocks are only sufficient to fund imports for about four months. As a result, the administration has banned a number of transactions involving foreign cash. That is how Fatehi's performance got cancelled.
Nora Fatehi, a Moroccan-Canadian actor, has appeared in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam movies. She made her on-screen debut in 2014 with the Hindi film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans. As a contestant on the well-known reality series Bigg Boss 9, she became well-known the following year. She later participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and currently, she is a part of another dance reality show, Dance Deewane, but as a judge.
She has carved out a career through the years performing dance numbers in movies, commonly known as item numbers.
