Has Priyanka Chopra Named Her Baby? Here's What Mom Madhu Chopra Has To Say

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are yet to name their baby, the actor's mother Madhu Chopra revealed to the press this week, as per reports. The new parents announced last month that they had welcomed their first child through surrogacy. Jonas and Chopra had tied the knot in 2018.

In a short note on social media, the couple told their fans they became parents. "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much."

They have remained tight-lipped about their child even refraining from confirming if it's a boy or a girl; certain reports, however, have claimed it's a girl. They have refrained from sharing pictures of the child or making any public references to their parenthood journey too.

Madhu Chopra, who recently celebrated a milestone for her cosmetic clinic, told the media at the occasion that she was very happy to become a grandmother. "Nani bane toh bahut bahut khushi hui mujhe. I am only smiling all the time. I'm very happy," India Today quoted her saying.

She added that the baby was yet to be named and that they were waiting for suggestions from a priest.

According to a report, Jonas and Chopra's baby was born prematurely, arriving 12 weeks before the due date. The baby stayed at the Southern California Hospital outside of Los Angeles for a few days after birth.

Chopra's surprise announcement of becoming a mother had evoked a range of reactions on the internet last month. In earlier interviews, Chopra has expressed a wish to become a mother and that becoming parents was something that was important to both her and Jonas. "I was ready since I was 12. I always wanted to have kids. It is not about being ready. It will happen when it happens and when it is destined to be," she told Access Hollywood.
