Rosario Dawson: The Apple TV+ auditory thriller series Calls announced its voice cast and premiere date on March 3, 2021.
The nine-part drama series features stars Nick Jonas, Pedro Pascal, Rosario Dawson, Lily Collins, Joey King, Mark Duplass, Karen Gillian, Judy Greer, Aubrey Plaza, Danny Pudi, Laura Harrier, Paul Walter Hauser, Jaeden Martell, Riley Keough, Danny Huston, Stephen Lang, Paola Nuñez, Edi Patterson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ben Schwartz, and Jennifer Tilly.
The entire cast lent their voice for the project as Calls is designed to be an immersive television experience. The auditory thriller uses audios combined with minimal abstract visuals in order to tell the nine stories through nine calls. Directed by Fede Álvarez, each episode will follow a dark mystery that will unravel through a series of phone calls. As time progresses in the episodes, the characters will begin experiencing intense and unsettling events. The calls are all somehow connected to each other, even though they appear to be completely unrelated in the beginning.
The upcoming mystery thriller is an adaption of the Canal+ series of the same name created by Timothée Hochet. The series will be launching on March 19, 2021, and was Apple TV+’s first international series order. Calls also mark Apple TV+’s first global co-production as it is a tie-up with the French TV broadcaster Canal+. Calls will stream in more than 100 countries on Apple TV+ and a French-language version will premiere on Canal+.
