New Releases OTT Platforms: The ongoing pandemic which has been keeping the cine-goers inside their homes has also turned the OTT platforms into the 'new big screen'.
The makers of the globally produced films as well as the projects rolled out in the homeland are considering digital release, abiding the current circumstances. Mega hitmakers such the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who draw the masses to the theaters on the premiere day, is releasing their much-awaited films on the digital platforms.
However, other than that the limitations put by the coronavirus lockdown, the audience response to the previous OTT releases has transformed the streaming platforms into a sellout. Besides the huge banner films, independent and small-budget ventures have also gained a new source to reach the right audience now. Much like the previous year, 2021, too, has a long list of films scheduled to release on streaming platforms.
Here's what you can watch on OTT platforms this year:
Indian Films
Toofan
The director-actor duo Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar, that gave us Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, will be returning with another promising project Toofan. Akhtar will essay the role of a national level boxer, alongside Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in supporting roles.

Sooryavanshi
The upcoming cop-drama starring Akshay Kumar will feature the actor in the titular role, Veer Sooryavanshi, the head of anti-terrorism squad. The Rohit Shetty directorial also marks the reunion of co-stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif on-screen after a decade. The much-awaited film Sooryanvanshi, which is part of Shetty's cop universe, will also feature Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in cameo appearance.

Bhuj: The Pride of India
Bhuj: The Pride of India will feature Ajay Devgn in the lead role with a powerful ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Nora Fatehi. Set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the film revolves around the life of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, the then man-in-charge for the Bhuj air terminal.

Bhoomi
Jayam Ravi’s film has the lead actor playing the role of an astronaut, who returns to his village to finish unresolved business. Although, the villagers resent him, he continues to help them until he jets off to Mars. The action film directed by Lakshman also features Nidhhi Agarwal and Ronit Roy.

Haseen Dillruba
The much-anticipated mystery thriller Vinil Mattew star Taapsee Pannu in an “self obsessed borderline narcissist character”, as hinted by the actor. The cast lead by Pannu also has Vikrant Massey, Hansika Motwani and Harshvardhan Rane in pivotal roles.

Bell Bottom
Bell Bottom, which is a spy thriller set in the 80s, starring Akshay Kumar as the protagonist, a RAW agent. The film directed by Ranjit Tiwari also features Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta in key roles. The Indian film has been deemed as the first film in the world to be shot and completed during the pandemic.

The Kartik Aaryan starrer film is an official remake of the South Korean film The Terror Live released in 2014. Directed by Ram Madhvani, Dhamaka will have a direct-to-OTT release on Netflix India.
