Expecto Patronum! Magic shall unleash itself once again. The world will witness a bunch of new kids adorning the characters of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in the latest Harry Potter TV Series.

So This Is Happening: JK Rowling on X
JK Rowling, the writer of the Harry Potter franchise took to X and posted an 'open casting call' for children in the UK and Ireland for the roles of Harry, Ron, and Weasley.
Like all the HP sequels, Rowling's this piece of content also started with a dramatic opening. Her caption reads, "So this is happening..." She looks as mesmerised with this decision of taking the franchise forward on TV with new and upcoming talent.
While one user hilariously commented "Sending my children to audition right away," another one said, "I hope you find the most incredibly talented and loving children who enjoy your stories! I would now like to identify as Professor Sprout or Professor McGonagall as a middle-aged woman."
How to audition?
Following on the author's post above, here are the steps to audition. The first screening process will take place virtually. Interested candidates are required to record and send two videotapes.
The first tape shall include the candidate narrating a short poem or a story, NOT related to Harry Potter. The second tape will be an introductory one, where they say their name, place of birth, height and location. Plus, there's a cute cue too. They need to talk about and describe a close family member, a pet or a friend.
The deadline to submit the same is October 31 2024. The videos can be submitted using the link from the above post.
The quest for new trio
According to The Guardian, casting for the movie adaptations 25 years ago was fraught with rumours and gossip, with Rowling insisting that the cast be British. The trio of characters were eventually brought to the screen by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson – all of whom were relatively unknown at the time they were cast.
Auditions have already begun for these three characters. The new talents will get the opportunity to continue their legacy and also add a flavour of their own to reach new and improbable heights of success as the former actors had.
Will there be auditions for side characters too?
A casting call is out and in the news already for the three main characters, Harry, Ron and Hermione. But there has been no news of an impending audition for other characters that also add greatly to the legend of Harry Potter. Professor Dumbledore, Lord Voldemort, Luna Lovegood to name a few.
It is highly probable that after the three main characters are finalised and already on board, the next call of auditions for supporting actors will take place. We suggest keeping an eye on JK Rowling's and HBO's X and Instagram handles for the same.
