Gossip Girl trailer: The revamped HBO Max show, Gossip Girl kicks off next month (July 8). The official trailer for this much anticipated reboot released on Thursday and it straightaway takes you back to the Upper East Side with a string of salacious scenes and big secrets that are ready to explode anytime. The show stars Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, and Savannah Lee Smith in various roles.

While none of the old cast from the original series is returning, the revival of the iconic CW show will be narrated by Gossip Girl alumni Kristen Bell. Check out the revamped Gossip Girl trailer below:

HBO Max had released the first look and a short teaser of the series earlier, giving viewers a glimpse into the show’s new characters. The newly launched trailer of Gossip Girl reboot is already courting controversy as many viewers have described it as “soft porn”, Page Six reported.

Starting on July 8, the new show will be available on HBO Max in a 10-episode run. It is reported that in the first few episodes of the show, Emily Alyn Lind’s character Audrey Hope will be seen in intimate scenes while former Disney star Thomas Doherty, who plays a student named Max Wolfe, will be seen taking part in a threesome.

The show’s original creators — Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage — and executive producer Joshua Safran have returned for the revamp the show which will “explores just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years,” a report by Cosmopolitan stated. The writer described in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that this new chapter will be a “continuation” as opposed to a remake of the iconic show which aired from 2007 to 2012. HBO Max also cleared that the new show is going fast-forward eight years after the site logged off.

Gossip Girl trailer out: "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl," the show's official description explains.

The shooting for the reboot was scheduled to begin in March 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Production for the reboot began in November 2020. The names and brief descriptions of the characters have been posted on the official Gossip Girl Instagram page.
