On August 14, Netflix officially announced the show and released a teaser that has already caught the attention of viewers. The teaser opens with Ishaan Khatter donning a royal avatar, setting the tone for what promises to be a visually stunning series. The teaser also gives a glimpse of the chemistry between Ishaan and Bhumi, as they are seen dancing together and exchanging glances, hinting at a romantic storyline.

The cast also inlcudes Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Lisa Mishra, Sumukhi Suresh and Luke Kenny. The series is described as a blend of romance, desire, ambition, and the allure of royalty. The teaser focuses on the grandeur of the royal setting and introduces the key characters, but it keeps the plot under wraps, leaving viewers intrigued.

According to the official description of The Royals, the series explores the collision of two very different worlds. The series is directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana and produced by Pritish Nandy Communications. Ghose is recognised for her roles in The Night Manager (2023), Karzzzz (2008), and Chandrashekhar (2018). Asthana is an Indian director and writer celebrated for her contributions to Hindi cinema and television. She made her film debut with the 2011 youth movie Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, produced by Y-Films, a division of Yash Raj Films.
