Bridgerton: Series based on Julia Quinn books
The Julia Quinn book series Bridgerton consists of nine books. Each book follows the life of one of the eight siblings, with the ninth book serving as an epilogue to the series. The first book The Duke and I followed the character Daphne Bassett and Duchess of Hastings' love story, the first season of the series also focuses on especially Daphne, played by Phoebe Dynevor.
In the same pattern, the second season will focus on another sibling. The second book in the series is titled The Viscount Who Loved Me and focuses on Anthony Bridgerton. Thus the second season will also focus on Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey.
Cast of Bridgerton Season 2:
Simone Ashley was cast as Kate Sharma, the female lead for the second season. The character of Kate Sharma is presumably based on the book character Kate Sheffield. Charithra Chandran also joined to cast as Kate Sharma’s sister Edwina. In addition, Rupert Young, Shelley Conn, and Calam Lynch were cast for the second season. Actor Regé-Jean Page who played Simon Bassett in the series will not be returning for season 2.
Season 3 and 4:
Seasons 3 and 4 will presumably follow the same pattern and be based on An Offer From a Gentleman and Romancing Mister Bridgerton respectively. The third and fourth books of the series focus on Benedict Bridgerton and Colin Bridgerton respectively.
