OTT platforms have generated a lot of interest in recent years. These channels, together with social media, were the most practical sources of entertainment during the lockdown, keeping people glued to their gadgets.

Netflix Releases August 2022

Viewers have a lot to look forward to in August because OTT powerhouse Netflix has already released its exciting lineups for the following month of August.

1. Wedding Season (August 4)

Wedding Season is an upcoming American romantic comedy directed by Tom Dey with a screenplay by Shiwani Srivastava starring Pallavi Sharda and Suraj Sharma. The movie centres on Asha and Ravi, who act like they are married during a summer of weddings to escape pressure from their families. It is, however, complicated by feelings.

2. Darlings (August 5)

Darlings is an upcoming Bollywood black comedy co-written and directed by Jasmeet K. Reen, in her directorial debut with a screenplay by Parveez Sheikh, and produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt (in her debut production), and Gaurav Verma under the banners Red Chillies Entertainment and Eternal Sunshine Productions. Hamza (Vijay Verma), Bhatt's alcoholic and abusive husband, is the target of a plot by a woman (Alia Bhatt) and her mother (Shefali Shah).

3. The Sandman (August 5)

Based on a 1989-1996 comic book by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics, The Sandman is an upcoming American fantasy television series. Developed by Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg for Netflix, the series is produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television.

Like the comic book, The Sandman tells the story of Dream, the titular Sandman. It stars Tom Sturridge as Dream, with Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry, and Sanjeev Bhaskar in supporting roles.

Sandman (Tom Sturridge), the Master of Dreams, is responsible for humanity's dreams and nightmares. Having been imprisoned for a century, he must restore order to the world thrown into chaos.

4. Carter (August 5)

Carter is an upcoming South Korean action thriller film directed by Jung Byung-gil and starring Joo Won, Lee Sung-jae, Jeong So-ri, and Kim Bo-min. The story revolves around an amnesiac agent who is thrown into a mysterious mission.

6. Never Have I Ever Season 3 (August 12)

7. Locke & Key Season 3 (August 12)

Locke & Key is a magical mystery developed by Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill, and Aron Eli Coleite, based on the acclaimed, best-selling graphic novels co-created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. It stars Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Laysla De Oliveira, Petrice Jones, and Griffin Gluck.

The third and final season of Locke & Key will air in August — as we learn more about the mystery keys and the murder of the father.

8. Day Shift (August 12)

Day Shift is an upcoming American vampire action comedy film directed by J. J. Perry in his directorial debut, based on a screenplay by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten. The movie features Snoop Dogg, Dave Franco, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Meagan Good, Karla Souza, Steve Howey, and Jamie Foxx among its cast.

9. The Next 365 Days (August 19)

The Next 365 Days is an upcoming erotic thriller film that serves as a sequel to 365 Days: This Day and is based on the third book of a trilogy by Blanka Lipińska. Starring Magdalena Lamparska, Rebecca Casiraghi, Michele Morrone and Anna-Maria Sieklucka.

10. Delhi Crime Season 2 (August 26)
