The new show catching everyone's attention these days is Inventing Anna. The show is based on the real-life story of Anna Delvey, a German heiress who allegedly cheated banks, financial institutions, and even her friends. She allegedly stole hundreds of thousands of dollars. Netflix has reportedly paid the real Anna Sorokin(real name), a huge amount of money for streaming the show.
Sorokin was born in Russia and raised in Germany. She somehow managed to fool New York’s elite and robbed more than $275,000. Delvey wanted to launch a member’s only club called the Anna Delvey Foundation. The show revolves around Anna and the journalist who investigated her case after she was arrested.
How Much Netflix paid Anna Sorokin And What She Did With The Money:
Anna Delvey reportedly got paid a sum of $320,000 by Netflix for the rights to make a TV series around her real-life events and release it. However, according to reports by BBC News, Netflix paid Anna an amount of $30,000 as 'initial payment'. This initial payment was used by Anna to pay her lawyer's legal fees. The deal between the two gave Netflix the right to showcase Anna's life story and portray her image in whichever way they desire.
According to report, out of the $320,000, Anna reportedly used $223,000 to pay restitution and fines. She reportedly paid $75,000 as attorney fees ( will have to pay more after her legal proceedings are concluded). Another $24,000 was used by her to settle state fines.

Anna also paid $70,000 to city National Bank, which is one of the many banks Anna scammed. In total Anna had already paid $100,000 to the bank until now. After settling the claims, not much money would've been left in Delvey's hands but she started a "shopping spree" on a clothes website using a phone in prison. She reportedly bought a lot of designer clothes of brands like Balenciaga and Celine from the site namely Net-a-Porter.
When asked about the money, Anna said "I still have some money from Netflix, and I have other projects I was working on that have not been that widely publicised."
