Netflix's newest anthology project Ajeeb Daastaans is all set to release on Friday, April 16. After the release of Anthologies like Ghost Stories, Unpaused and Lust Stories, it seems like the audience and directors are enjoying a variety of content in three hours.

The film is directed by Raj Mehta, Neeraj Ghaywan, Shashank Khaitan, Kayoze Irani and backed by Karan Johar. As far as the actors are concerned it has some of the best names in the industry. From Jaideep Ahlawat and Abhishek Banerjee of Paatal Lok, Shefali Shah of Delhi Crimes, Manav Kaul of Nail Polish, to Konkona Sen, many well-known actors of OTT are part of the project.

Other popular actors like Nushrratt Bharuccha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Fatima Sana Shaikh will also be seen in the anthology.

Four different stories

The official synopsis of the show reads, "A twisted tale of lovers, a struggle for daily life, a calculated friendship and a journey to find solace... the film explores jealousy, entitlement, prejudices and toxicity. Blurring the lines between right and wrong, the anthology explores the complexities of human behaviour and relationships."

The Dharma Production film is a mix of four different stories which are tied with one string that is love and longingness. The characters in the film are all longing for their rightful share of love.

As per reports, the story Manju, which is directed by Shashank Khaitan, revolves around love, jealousy and betrayal. It stars Armaan Ralhan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Fatima Sana, who plays the role of a fierce wife who says whatever she believes in. The story revolves around three characters who have a rather strange relationship with each other.

In the story by Raj Mehta, Nushrratt Bharuccha plays the role of a house help who is forced to take some drastic steps for the betterment of her daughter, whereas Abhishek Banerjee is seen as her secret admirer who tries to help her.

The story of Konkona Sen and Aditi Rao Hydari is a unique one in this anthology, as it deals with the lives of two women who struggle to come out of the closet. While in Kayoze Irani's story, Shefali Shah's husband does not understand her and she finds love in a mute man who understands and cares for her.

Netflix Ajeeb Daastaans: When and Where to watch

The film is set to release on Friday, April 16 on Netflix. Ajeeb Daastaans is releasing in Hindi along with English subtitles. According to some sources, it is also decided to be released in Tamil and Telugu languages but there is no official information so far.

The trailer of the anthology was released on Netflix on April 2 and it is packed with amazing performances by the actors which have made the anthology look promising.
