"It was a lot that we went through. It’s always hard when someone around you gets COVID-19, and harder when you’re pregnant," Dhupia told Hindustan Times, referring to when her husband tested positive for the virus back in May this year. The Ek Chalis Ki Last Local actor added that though her husband was down with the virus and in isolation for a period during her pregnancy, he was the one who helped her "stay positive."

Dhupia, who married Bedi in 2018 and had her first child with him the same year, has been open about her perspectives on motherhood, working moms and beauty standards. In an interview with SheThePeople after becoming a mother the first time, Dhupia impressed on the reality of new mothers being fat-shamed by society and why such sexist attacks must stop.
"When you get a knee injury everyone tells you to be careful and take pain killers, women go through so much why is nobody nursing that? Don’t you dare fat shame a new mom. They go through a lot," the actor had said.
This time around, Dhupia says the couple has been cautious owing to pandemic health concerns, and has been staying indoors awaiting the arrival of their second baby. "I’ve got less questions in my mind because I know the beats of it, and why and how the mind and body reacts to it," Dhupia says, adding, however, that becoming a mother comes with a baggage of anxiety around whether one is good enough or not.
Dhupia has revealed she and Bedi are prepping their daughter, Mehr for the arrival of her sibling.
