Neeyat is an upcoming murder mystery thriller starring Vidya Balan as an unusual detective investigating an unusual murder with multiple suspects and various dark secrets. The makers of the film recently released its trailer and the audience is intrigued.
Anu Menon, Vikram Malhotra and Vidya Balan’s last collaboration together was the 2020 film Shakuntala Devi based on the life of mathematician Shakuntala Devi, also known as the ‘human computer’. The trio is now bringing the twisted tale of a murder disguised as a suicide in the film Neeyat.
Produced by Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment and directed by Anu Menon, this movie stars Vidya Balan as Mira Rao, an unusual detective whose peculiar yet effective ways of investigation will lead her to some dark secrets hidden behind the facade of friendships and relations. The trailer of the film was released on June 22 and it was enough to make the audience curious.

In the trailer, billionaire Ashish Kapoor, played by Ram Kapoor, hosts a grand birthday party for himself at a huge mansion in Scotland for some of his closest friends. However, a day that was supposed to be a memorable getaway turns into a crime scene when Ashish Kapoor jumps off a cliff into the stormy sea. While everyone claims it to be a suicide, Mira Rao insists it is a murder and makes every person present at the party a prime suspect.
As Mira Rao investigates the case, the true face of relations and friendships will be revealed including some dark secrets. Every person has a motive to kill and everyone claims to be innocent. The case may be more sinister than it looks and the trailer promises an on-the-edge experience.
The movie stars Vidya Balan and Ram Kapoor along with Prajakta Koli, Rahul Bose, Shahana Goswami, Niki Walia, Danesh Rizvi, Shashank Arora, Dipannita Sharma, Amrita Puri and Neeraj Kabi in pivotal roles. The movie is set to release in theatres on July 7.
