Neena Gupta had a bit of an embarrassing moment during an award show recently. At the recently held Filmfare OTT Awards, Gupta was recognised for her work in the web series Panchayat. However, she momentarily forgot and assumed she won the award for her other show Masaba Masaba.

It should be noted that the brilliant veteran was also nominated in the category – Best Supporting Actor, Series (Female): Comedy – for her character in Masaba Masaba. The show also features her daughter Masaba Gupta in the titular role. Now, an endearing video of Neena Gupta accepting her award has been shared on social media by Masaba, who was also nominated in the best actress category for Masaba Masaba

In the clip, Neena mistakenly says that she is nominated against her daughter for Masaba Masaba and goes on to assume that she has won the award for the Netflix series. However, she is soon corrected by the audience members that she actually won the award for her role in Panchayat. This leaves her confused and she says that she assumed she won for Masaba Masaba and then thanks the team Panchayat for being corrected. “Oh, that means Masaba has a chance,” Neena Gupta adds as the audience laughs and the host of the show teases the veteran actress on her unique and flattering predicament.

In the caption, Masaba Gupta cheeringly said, “Please enjoy this video of my mother living her best life on and off the stage because all the awards are hers only."

As soon as the video was up, people flocked in to drop hilarious reactions to the video. Replying to the post, Huma Qureshi said, “Star.” Sonam Nair, director of Masaba Masaba said, “Hahah mess! Love her.” Actor Swastika Mukherjee said, “I love her,” while Bhumi Pednekar dropped heart emojis. “She was the cutest on stage,” responded Gauhar Khan.

Panchayat 2, which was released on May 20 this year is one of the most popular and well-received Hindi web series. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, it also stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Chandan Roy, Satish Ray, and Pankaj Jha.
