NCB on Ananya Panday raid: WhatsApp chats between Bollywood actor Ananya Panday and Aryan Khan have revealed that the latter had allegedly asked her to "arrange" for weed. Panday is soon expected to appear for a second round of interrogation at the Narcotics Control Bureau's Mumbai office today.
Panday's apartment in the city was raided by NCB officers on October 21, following which the actor was asked to appear for questioning by the agency the same day. While the actor did comply with the agency's summon, she was asked to appear again for questioning on Friday.
A report by India Today has now claimed that NCB has discovered chats between Panday, daughter of actor Chunky Panday and designer Bhavana Pandey and Aryan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, in which the two discussed procuring drugs.
According to the report, during one conversation between the two, Aryan had asked Panday if there could be some ‘jugaad’ to arrange ganja or weed. To his message, Panday had allegedly replied, "I will arrange."
However, when NCB questioned Panday about the chat, she alleged that she was "joking". NCB has clarified that so far there is no evidence to suggest that Panday did procure any kind of drugs for Khan.
NCB's raid at Panday's home comes weeks after Aryan Khan was arrested after a cruise ship drug bust on October 3. Khan's bail plea was rejected by a special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Act) court in Mumbai on October 20. Soon after he moved the Bombay High Court for the same. The 23-year-old remains lodged at Arthur Road jail and the hearing for his bail is scheduled for October 26. His father Shah Rukh Khan had made his first public appearance yesterday after Aryan's arrest when he arrived at Arthur Road jail to meet his son. Shortly afterwards, it was reported that few NCB officers had arrived at Khan's bungalow Mannat. However, it was later clarified that the officers were there to complete some paperwork.
