Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui's revenge drama film Haddi, directed by debutant Akshat Ajay Sharma, is all set to release on Zee5, as announced by the streaming platform on Monday.
Haddi revolves around the intoxicating realms of retribution, brutality, and authority, delving deep into the psyche of a criminal. Backed by Zee Studios and Sanjay Saha and Radhika Nanda's Anandita Studios, the upcoming digital release Haddi also boasts filmmaker-actor Anurag Kashyap in a significant role.

The trailer of Haddi begins with a glimpse of Nawazuddin as a transgender-turned-vindictive criminal named Haddi. Overlooking a person begging for mercy, he says, “Pata hai log humse kyu darte hai? Humara aashirvad bohot shaktishali hota hai aur humara shrap bohot bhayavey. Aur usse bhi bhayavey jante ho kya hota hai? Humara badla (People are scared of transgenders do you know why? Our blessings are powerful and our curse is dangerous. Our revenge is even more dangerous).”
Haddi To Release On OTT
Co-penned by Akshat Ajay Sharma and Adamya Bhalla, the crime revenge drama Haddi stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who adeptly essays two distinct roles - Haddi and Harika, a transgender woman, showcasing his exceptional versatility.
Sharma emphasised the portrayal of society's harshness in the film. He revealed the extensive effort invested in developing characters and intricately weaving the narrative of this politician-mobster-transgender drama. With a sense of anticipation, he expressed genuine hopes for Haddi to surpass all expectations and create a lasting impact on ZEE5's audience.
He further highlighted that the movie's exploration of themes like vengeance, violence, and power is poised to engage and captivate viewers with its compelling storyline.
Completing the ensemble cast of Haddi are Ila Arun, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Saurabh Sachdeva, Shridhar Dubey, Rajesh Kumar, Vipin Sharma, and Saharsh Shukla. It will premiere on September 7.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui's New Look From Haddi
Last year, Siddiqui was shown in the photo wearing g a red silk saree and a red bindi. He completed his outfit with a white, chunky necklace and earrings. His hair was kept in a bun. He struck a casual pose while avoiding the camera's lens. In the image, he smiled as he observed a man who was decked out in yellow. He posted the song Mere Humsafar.
Sharing the picture on Instagram, Siddiqui wrote in Hindi, “giraftar teri aankhon mai hove jaa rahe hai hum, jeena nhi hai fir bhi jeeye jaarhe hai hum (I really don't want to live, but I'm still living, and I'm getting caught in your eyes.)- @fbdn.bdn.” He used hashtags ‘love’, ‘happiness’ and ‘emotion.’ Actors Sharib Hashmi and Darshan Kumar dropped red heart, fire, and clapping emojis in the comment section.
