Navya Naveli Nanda's upcoming Project Naveli: Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s daughter Navya Nanda is currently focusing on her upcoming Project Naveli, an initiation to bridge the gender gap in India.
On Tuesday, Nanda took to her Instagram account to share a few pictures related to the project and expressed that it will aspire women to "reach their full potential, be recognised for who they are & celebrating their achievements (sic)."
Here are five things to know about Navya Naveli Nanda's upcoming Project Naveli:
1. Nanda, who is actor Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, revealed that the project will focus on four main areas to "fight gender inequality". They are:
- Education
- Economic Independence
- Domestic violence
- Mental & Physical Health
2. Equal Opportunities: Nanda explained that a large portion of our society can never "fully develop" unless both girls and boys are getting equal opportunities. She believes that all genders are equal. So to strengthen that belief both girls and boys should support each other to reach their "full potential".
3. Sharing that this initiative is extremely close to her heart, Nanda wrote the project will work for a change where "opportunities are not taken but given."
4. Last year, she graduated from New York’s Fordham University, co-founded a healthcare business called Aara Health to “empower, educate and diagnose” women. She brought in three young women – Ahilya Mehta, Mallika Sahney and Pragya Saboo – and launched the company from scratch.
5. With Project Naveli, Nanda is looking forward to eradicating "patriarchal norms" and build a more equal world.
