Nandamuri Balakrishna Faces Backlash After Allegedly Pushing Co-Star On Stage
In the video, Nandamuri Balakrishna is seen attending the promotional event of Krishna Chaitanya's upcoming Telugu action film, Gangs of Godavari, as a special guest. Dressed in a white sherwani, he moves to the centre of the stage and initially politely asks the film's actors, Neha Shetty and Anjali (dressed in a sari), to step aside. However, moments later, he abruptly pushes Anjali away, causing her to nearly stumble and fall. Although initially shocked, Anjali quickly laughs it off along with Neha and others on stage, while Nandamuri maintains a stern expression and continues to scold her. In an attempt to make amends, he later gives Anjali a high-five on stage.
Appalling behaviour by Balakrishna and an understandable reaction by the junior artist who laughed it off, but the most horrifying part of this video is the crowd’s reaction to a blatant act of assault, cheering and hooting in approval.

Internet Reacts
The internet reacted strongly to Nandamuri's actions. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta reposted the video on X, expressing his dismay with the comment, "Who is this scumbag?" When a fan identified the man as Nandamuri Balakrishna, a veteran Telugu superstar and an Andhra Pradesh MLA, as well as the son of legendary Telugu actor and former Andhra Pradesh CM NT Rama Rao, Mehta responded, "Scumbag x 100."

Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently working on his 109th film, which is set to be released in both Telugu and Hindi. Despite his long and illustrious career, this incident has cast a shadow over his professional image, drawing significant criticism from both fans and industry peers.
The incident has sparked a broader conversation about the treatment of women in the film industry and the responsibilities of public figures.
She is not a junior artist but a senior actress of almost 22 years in the industry

For additional context: That actress has done more than 50+ movies. More than half of them as a lead. Sad that this is the state of the industry and it hurts that there is no transforming this. Won't be surprised if there comes a pr spin on this.

Crowd is cheering, the public is toxic we can observe that in their movies too and dont forget sandeep vanga is one among them

Sadly the whole "misogynist" hero wooing and harassing the heroine was a big part of Indian cinema and more so in South industry (not all). This has conditioned the public that such acts are to be hooted on and cheered. And the whole making a hero 'god' culture adds to that.
