'Namaste America' To Release On April 25, Meet The Cast Of The Show

Rupali Ganguly became a household name with the sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and she’s only raking more popularity with her television show Anupamaa. The show has struck a chord with people so much that the makers announced a prequel of the show titled Anupamaa: Namaste America.

The prequel of the series will premiere on OTT Platform Disney+ Hotstar which will show the early married life of Rupali’s character Anupamaa. The TV show, based on Star Jalsha’s Bengali series Sreemoyee, will premiere on April 25 and will have only 11-episodes.

The show makers recently dropped teasers for the show wherein Anupamaa can be seen practising her English-speaking skills but her mother-in-law taunts her for the slow pace of learning. "I want to go to America, for...," Rupali said before she forgot what came next. The mother-in-law laughed as she told her, “If you learn English at this speed of a tortoise, you may never get a visa for America.”

Meanwhile, another teaser shows how Anupamaa wishes to go to America and teach dance but is mocked by an acquaintance. In another promotional video, an attempt to hold her back is made by asking who’d take care of the kids in her absence.

All through these, Ba, played by Sarita Joshi, defends Anupamaa and stands by her decision. Sarita Joshi is the new addition to the cast of Namaste Anupamaa. Here are other cast members.

The show will see Rupali Ganguly, and Sudhanshu Pandey reprise their roles as Vanraj and Anupamaa. And so will Alpana Buch and Arvinf Vaidya who play Vanraj’s parents in Anupamaa.

Apart from the four, the cast will see four new additions including seasoned actors Sarita Joshi, and Shekhar Shukla with young talents like Ekta Saraiya and Puja Bannerjee.

Devon Ke Dev Mahadev actor Puja Banerjee will be seen essaying the character of Vanraaj’s girlfriend Ritika. Speaking she had told in an interview that Ritika’s character in the show is bold and empowering.

Meanwhile, Sarita Joshi will be seen playing the role of Moti Baa in the show. The Baa, Bahu Aur Baby actor will be reuniting with Ganguly who also starred in the show.

And actor Ekta Saraiya will essay the character of Anupamaa’s sister-in-law Dolly Parekh and Shekhar Shukla will appear as Vanraj’s maternal uncle Jignesh.
