Naagin To Save India From Coronavirus! Viewers Amused

If Indian television serials have not scared you enough in the past, then you need to check Naagin 6 trailer. As the world grapples with the coronavirus pandemic, the show Naagin 6 takes its creative liberty to heights not yet known to Indian television, much to viewers' horror. Worry not people, Ekta Kapoor's Naagin will save the world from COVID-19, vaccines, medicines, masks and safety guidelines be damned.

The promo of the show begins with a man from 'padosi desh' (neighbouring country) pouring some red liquid in a waterbody, back in 2020 and then cuts to a "meeting" of a suited man with seers and monks amongst others, discussing the grave issue. One of the wonders who will save them from this calamity is talked about and soon Naagin appears on the screen. We then see her touch the map of India and heal the country.

"Desh ki raksha karne ke lie, zeher ban kar zeher ko hi khatam karne aa rahi hai Naagin, phir ek baar (To protect the country, the poison will kill poison, Naagin is coming, again!" said the tweet announcing the show's new season.

One needs to be extremely talented to make outlandish shows that leave the audience in splits and questioning their own sanity at the same time. But the Naagin trailer is surely a pain. Till naagmani, one could still think it to be an exasperated show of personal rivalry for power. But nationalist naagin, too much?

Netizens have retweeted the trailer with the funniest caption, a take on the absurdity of shows like Naagin 6. Too much VFX and suspense background music with hardly any content in it. One Twitter user wrote, "This is what am talking about. Cues on many nationalist symbols without being too overt," while another straight up asked for a vaccine dose called Nagaxin (warning: there does not exist any vaccine like this, it's purely for entertainment purposes).

While many others started guessing the plan for the next season, "The next season she'll save us from alien attack, global warming, asteroid etc."

Social media users took their time to dissect which makes no sense is a fun and timepass activity and asked many questions. For example which neighbouring country is the promo talking about?

Seeing this promo, makes one wonder that in a time when cinema and OTT have exploded the way it has, when will Indian serial grow up or understand the power of common sense? Another netizen wrote, "Gosh this is some high-level sh**...Now we need more nationalist Naagin." Yes, Naagin has become a nationalist snake.

After so many seasons of fighting for naagmani, amongst everything, do we need Naagin to save the world or save us from the deadly cringe?
