The riveting third season takes place in the 1970s. Lila (Gaia Girace), who has lost contact with her father, brother, and husband, now lives with Enzo in a tenement on the outskirts of Naples. She works in a local sausage factory under harsh conditions to support her son. It's Lenù (Margherita Mazzucco), who has returned to the old neighbourhood in preparation for her marriage to Professor Pietro Airota and subsequent relocation to Florence. When the novel she authored last season is released and rejected as smut by certain critics, she lives in the neighbourhood.
The release date for the fourth season is currently uncertain. Because the third season just ended, it's too early to say. We might have to wait a while for an official update from the original producers.
