Adam Sandler's most popular Netflix film, Murder Mystery, falls into the category of a light-hearted action comedy that revolves around a couple on vacation who tries to solve a murder. Jennifer Aniston's appearance in the film adds to the overall acceptability of the film as it showcases Sandler's less serious side. The film's sequel is identical in every way to its predecessor and does not deviate from its medium-rewarding and low-stakes entertainment factor.

Murder Mystery 2 Out On Netflix: Casting and plot of the film

The follow-up movie boasts a cast full of high-profile actors, such as Jodie Turner-Smith, Mark Strong, Mélanie Laurent, John Kani, Kuhoo Verma, Enrique Arce, Zurin Villanueva, Tony Goldwyn, Annie Mumolo, and Dany Boon, just like its predecessor did.

In the second film, Nick has relinquished his facade as a cop and has instead opened a private investigative firm alongside Audrey (Jennifer Aniston). Unfortunately, their lack of success can be attributed to their business cards which read "First floss then Spitz – we catch bad guys." As a result, they are practically jobless. In Murder Mystery 2, the couple seeks employment and discovers that being detectives might not be their forte. Additionally, their finances have reached an all-time low.

The middle-aged couple receives an invitation to attend the Maharajah's (played by Adeel Akhtar) upcoming wedding on a private island, which they happily accept. However, their enjoyment is cut short when a murder and kidnapping occur during the festivities. The couple takes it upon themselves to solve the crime, although the mystery element may not be very sharp. Nevertheless, the film's narrative is concise, and the costumes are stunning, with Jennifer Aniston donning an ivory lehenga from Manish Malhotra's Mijwan collection. However, despite providing moments of great laughter, Murder Mystery 2 falls short in terms of originality and an unpredictable storyline, making it a no-brainer film.
