Munmun Dutta, Raj Anadkat Dismiss Engagement Rumours: What They Said

Actors Munmun Dutta and Raj Anadkat, well-known for their roles in the popular television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, have debunked engagement rumours that recently surfaced online. Contrary to speculation suggesting that the couple had privately exchanged rings in Vadodara, Munmun and Raj have stepped forward to clarify that these reports are entirely false and unsubstantiated.

Munmun Dutta Raj Anadkat Dismiss Engagement Rumours 

Taking to his Instagram Stories on March 13, Raj Anadkat addressed the swirling rumours, asserting, "Hello everyone, Just to clear things up, the news you’ve been seeing on social media is false and baseless. Team Raj Anadkat." This direct statement aimed to dispel any confusion surrounding their relationship status.

Similarly, Munmun Dutta denied persistent rumours in an interview with the Times of India, labelling the news as "ridiculous, fake, and ludicrous." Emphatically denying any truth to the reports, she asserted her reluctance to entertain such unfounded speculation, stating, "And frankly, I don’t want to give my energy to this fake thing that keeps coming up again and again." On her Instagram, she posted two stories to refute the rumours.

This isn't the first time Munmun and Raj have found themselves at the centre of relationship rumours. Similar speculations emerged in 2021, prompting both actors to issue detailed statements refuting the claims. Raj emphasised the potential repercussions of spreading false information about his personal life without consent, urging individuals to redirect their creativity elsewhere. 

Munmun, too, expressed disappointment at the negative commentary surrounding the rumours, highlighting the societal issues perpetuated by such gossip. She wrote then, "To the general public, I had far better expectations from you. But the filth that you have showered in the comment section, even from the so called ‘Literate’ ones proves how regressive society we are. Women are constantly AGE SHAMED, SLUT SHAMED, MOM SHAMED, at the cost of your humour. Whether your humour drives someone to the edge of a mental breakdown or not, is never you concern. 13 years of entertaining people and it didn’t take 13 minutes for anyone of you to RIP MY DIGINITY APART."

Having portrayed pivotal roles as Babita Iyer and Jethalal's son Tappu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Munmun and Raj have garnered immense popularity among fans. In December 2022, Raj revealed his decision to depart from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), marking the end of his tenure on the long-running show. Meanwhile, Munmun, who has been an integral part of TMKOC since its inception 14 years ago, continues to remain associated with the series. The show recently celebrated a milestone achievement, reaching 4,000 episodes, further solidifying its status as a beloved fixture on Indian television.
